Awhile back my friends gave me this china cabinet to paint for my shop. I knew it would be GORGEOUS, but at the time I was concentrating on kids' items and just didn't know what to do with it. It sat in waiting until a few weeks ago. I finally got it out and painted it (an almost black, a chalk-like paint mixed myself), distressed it ever-so-slightly, and waxed it. Then moved it into our dining room. I love it!
So... about the shop. Sigh.
I'm sad to say that this weekend will be my last weekend with a booth at Studio 1404. It's so much fun and I love, love, love the owners, Brian and Amanda, and all my friends too. This time of year is busy for me, and they're open more than just the first Friday weekends now (YAY!). I'm having trouble keeping up. It's been nothing but a wonderful creative experience. I will miss it. If you see me down there, I'll be the one stalking my peeps and the beautiful stuff they create.
I definitely want to keep painting furniture I find here and there on my own timeframe, and selling it somehow, and of course I'm still up for custom pieces. I have a few lined up with friends, so that's good. It's just time to find a way to make a little more steady money.
It IS a First Friday weekend, though, and folks will be breaking out the Christmas decor. It will be a great time to shop! And all of my stuff will be discounted. Even the mural painted door I have hanging. Did you ever see it? You can see it in the back of that photo. It will be marked down too- $100.
Hope to see you there!
